So Much For My Plan
I had a plan to read my established TBR.
The plan was solid. I know I can read all of these books. I know I can. I've read double that in a week before. I can handle reading 5 books. No problem, right?
Problem.
Life.
My kids have to visit the dentist, I have to enroll one of them in school, swim lessons, their never ending desire to be fed. I think my 7 year old is going on 17 with the amount of food he consumes.
Also, new releases. I totally spaced off one of my most anticipated books this month. Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy came out today so I want to push aside my nice and tidy TBR and read this book.
In a couple of a days, I have a new TBR scheduled to post. I will do my best to stick to it this time but I am making no guarantees!

Let's start with the good.
I adored Brian. He was so likable. He is severely career minded and doesn't want to waste his time on random hook ups with random women. He isn't ready to settle down but when he is, you can tell he will be completely all in and just as dedicated to his wife/family as he is his job.
Kendy's complete back story was heartbreaking. It's easy to see why she was reluctant to let another man into her heart after what her scumbag ex did to her. She's ready for her forever man, which she thinks is a doctor she works with.
When the two of them eventually end up together, it's incredibly steamy. When their relations hip is solidified, it works great. They are really, really good for each other.
Not story related, but I love Mia's writing.
The Okay
The whole psychic thing was weird but understandable. I never understood why she took it so seriously when most people think that kind of thing is just for fun. Kendy was absolutely positive everything this psychic said to her was law.
Kendy's total dedication to landing her doctor co-worker as a husband became annoying. It was clear the doctor was a Grade-A Douche to everyone BUT her.
The Not So Good
Kendy's attitude about their relationship in the beginning is ... atrocious. She labels them "FTF" (friends that eff). She makes up rules as they go strictly to put distance between them.
I didn't like how she fought so hard against the obvious. Obviously, the doctor was a poor choice and Brian was the better choice.
I didn't like Kendy's nurse co-worker. She seemed to be an unnecessary character except to let Kendy know where to find Dr. Hot Pants.
I did like this book. I would certainly recommend it as a light and easy read. I look forward to reading more from Mia!

If you have read my one posted review, thank you.
If you read any reviews in the coming days and weeks, thank you.
The book community that I have belonged to for several months is amazing and awe inspiring. I have made many friends over books and long distances. The love and support from these people is what I know will keep me going when I feel like giving up. They will keep me focused when I lose track. They will be there for me and I am so, very grateful to have them in my life.
It is with great appreciation to let you know that I am incredibly humbled for you to take time out of your day and read what I have to say.
Thank you!

My FIRST Review! Sacrifice by Adriana Locke
I won an ARC of this book before it was released during an author event on Facebook. As soon as the book came out, I bought an ebook version. I absolutely adored this book. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Adriana's books, but this book was different.
So, here we go. Spoilers ahead.
First, I love Julia. I love how she carries the weight of everything (because, let's be honest, don't all women??). I wouldn't say she's afraid to ask for help but she is very reluctant to do so since the death of her husband, Gage. She's left with their small child, a girl named Everleigh (LOVE that name, Adriana!) after he dies so she shoulders everything to care for her and provide for her the best she can with what she has. I appreciate her reluctance to move on after Gage's death and her even further reluctance to let Crew in, knowing their past.
Second, Gage. Gage isn't even alive during this book but you feel him and his love the entire book. The little nuggets of encouragement she finds just when she needs them makes you realize just how much this man loved her and their daughter.
Everleigh. Oh, my word, Everleigh. How you can not love her and feel her pain. After it's revealed that she's sick, her light never seems to fade. I wish I could play with her at the park or let my kids play with her. I bet they'd love each other to pieces.
Will: oh. my. goodness. I don't usually develop book crushes, but I kind of wish I knew Will in real life. His humor was spot on and he always knew the right things to say. "Knock, knock, motherfucker."
Lastly, Crew. Oh, Crew. Crew is the proverbial screw up until Everleigh gets sick. It is then that he hears words his brother said to him repeated over and over in his thoughts. Gage is pretty much telling him to man up and take care of his (Gage's) family. He does. He goes above and beyond what is required. In the end, it costs him pretty big but he never wanes from his self-given duties. He never gives up. He keeps fighting for Julia, for Ever, and for them to be together.
Oh, and scorching hot sex was amazing. It wasn't over the top and so realistic.
Even though Crew and Julia share a complicated past, it seems inevitable that they would end up together.
I wouldn't label this book a "fighter" novel. No. I would tell people that this book is about two people who are lost (Julia and Crew) that find each other and join forces to take Ever's sickness down. This book is not about Crew and whateverthenameisofthefighterhehadtofight. It's about Julia and Crew fighting against something they can't control and coming out on top.
I would definitely give this book more than 5 stars if I could. Adriana has the ability to cast out her reel and hook you deep. Read this book. You will not be disappointed in the least.

Now, for some teasers!!!! (all of which were obtained from her Facebook group)
Hi! Hello! Welcome!!
My name is Christy and I read a lot. I mean, a lot. I can average a book a day and sometimes up to 10 books a week. My preferred genre is romance. Any romance, really. I tend to steer clear of darker romances with darker themes (ie abuse, kidnapping, rape) but won't rule them out if they come highly recommended.
A little bit about me? Well, I'm a stay at home mom to two lovely children. They are my sun and my whole world orbits around them. As of this post, they are 7 and nearly 3. I'm happily married. My husband is amazing even though sometimes he can get under my skin but let's be honest. Isn't that how it's supposed to go? ;) We'll be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary this year and have been together for 12 years. I have an amazing group of online friends and in-real-life friends that I try to spend as much time with as I possibly can.
This is my first attempt at book blogging but not my first attempt at blogging. I've had several in the past but haven't ever been as in tune with them as I am with this one. I swear, if I could read and get paid for it, I'd love that. Sadly, my one-click addiction doesn't pay any bills so this is for fun.
I have quite a few books that I've read that I've been dying to write about. I'll start there. I hope you like it here.
