Jake

 Pulling in eight figures a year as star pitcher for the Chicago Jaguars, there's no shortage of parties, booze, and women. I'm a beast on the mound and between the sheets but when my social media presence becomes a maor problem, the team’s owner brings in a PR expert to clean up my image. Andrea Diggers is the complete opposite of every girl I’ve ever met. She’s smart, classy, and completely off limits. Which makes me want her even more. I’ve always loved a challenge, and Andrea has no idea I'm about to get her to play...on my terms.

 Andrea

 Cleaning up Jake Napleton’s image may be my hardest assignment yet, and not just because of the secrets he keeps deeply buried. Working alongside the six-foot-six arrogant, filthy-mouthed man is a challenge in restraint. He screams poster-boy for favorite mistakes with his chiseled abs and rippling muscles. And I want to take him up on every dirty word he’s said. But he’s not the only one with something to hide. Our attraction may be immediate. Potent. Dirty. But is it enough to withstand our shadowed pasts?

*Playing Dirty is a full length sexy standalone with an HEA.*

Captain's Log :: Review

This book was a lot different from what I was expecting. A lot. I figured it was just your average, run of the mill sports romance with a hot chick and a hot ball player.

WRONG.

This story had so much depth. From the societal issues it touched on in South Chicago, to maintaining a certain image, this book was more than a romance. It was more than sports.

It was refreshing.

Don't get my wrong, the book still had that wonderful aspect of two people falling for each other. It had some super steamy intimate moments. But it also had HEART.

When Andrea is brought in to help clean up Jake's social media image, you could feel their chemistry right away. No matter how hard she tried to get him to talk to her on a professional level, he balked. He kept putting her off until she literally stalks him at the urging of her boss (who is a douche and that's all I'll say about that).

It seems from there, everything just goes downhill fast, but when Jake is put in a position to care for someone, it changes the tide in a way. The social media issues that arise out of that are difficult for ANYONE to deal with but this was almost literally a implosion.

After that deal with the fallout, everything lines up nearly perfectly but it wasn't a forced happily ever after. Nope. It felt like that kind of thing would happen naturally. It may have taken longer in real life, but it really worked in this story.

I just really enjoyed this book. I could barely put it down.

A very strong four and a half stars.
