Captain's Log :: Review
The complexity in this story is absolutely spell-binding. I loved the struggle the characters experienced. Will they? Won't they? GAHHHH the TEEN ANGST!
I LOVED Mandy. Her character is deep for a teen. She sees life differently and has so much compassion and kindness in her. She has an extremely good head on her shoulders and doesn't go off the rails, making decisions by the seat of her pants.
Jordan is so lost. His less than desirable home life seems to be sending him off the deep end but there's a tether between him and Mandy that cannot be severed. It's this invisible wire that only they can see, and no one else understands.
I just absolutely can't say enough good things. It's sweet. It's fun. It's funny. It's absolutely what being teenager is like. The constant struggle. I applaud Monica's ability to get into the teen psyche and put out this brilliant book.
