Review :: Alex in Wonderland :: Max Monroe

Blurb:

From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Max Monroe comes a new, sexy, and exciting twist on fairytales.

I’m Matt Hadder.
I’ve been called ruthless, savage—even brutal—by the men and women who work for me. And I’ve earned my reputation.

Wonderland Inc., a party planning organization for every major player in the world, is Oz, and I’m its Wizard. I can make anything—drugs, prostitutes, deals—appear for a night and disappear just as quickly.

This doesn’t make me good or bad—it makes me essential.

Wonderland Inc. was my life, until a beautiful contradiction of innocence and impurity, obedience and rebelliousness named Alex Little stepped in and turned both of our worlds upside down.

Welcome to Wonderland, Alex.
A place where everything appears normal.
But we’re all mad.

Dude.

DUDE!

WHAT A TRIP!

First, I'm a HUGE Alice in Wonderland fan. HUGE. I loved all the references to this beloved tale and the changes Max Monroe made to make things interesting. It was spot-on!

Second, this book is not exactly what one would expect from previously reading this duo. Nope. It wasn't the light, fluffy, hilarious stuff. THIS IS NOT A NEGATIVE! If anything, it honestly makes me like them more. To see their depth, their total writing ability, is just amazing. Seriously.

These characters, their slow evolution over the story, their connection, growth, captivates you from the first word. I was sucked in and had to begrudgingly stop reading to feed my family ("Guys, there's cereal in the cabinet!" "But mom, that's not REAL food!" "FINNNNNNEEEEEEEE.")

Anyway, this story is totally worth the wait. The hype. All the things. Read it.
