Captain's Log :: Review

          I was so excited to get my hands on this book. I was beyond thrilled to know what was going to happen to Santos and Mariana.

This book did NOT disappoint me.

I felt all the things for them during the course of the book. ME warns you in the beginning that this will be intense and she wasn't lying. This is one of the most realistic portrayals of a marriage falling apart that I have ever read. It is also one of the best examples of a couple who was so in love with each other but so worried about everything outside of themselves that they forgot to take care of one another.

I absolutely love that this was about the dissolution and rebuilding of a marriage. It was about what they each needed to do as individuals to improve themselves before they could even work on bettering their relationship. I love the steps that Santos took to get his family back. I love that Mari demanded and got what she needed most - respect and honesty.

This whole book was just one of the best relationships I have ever - EVER - read.
“Mother, reader, storyteller - ME Carter never set out to write books. But when a friend practically forced a copy of Twilight into her hands, the love of the written word she had lost as a child was rekindled. With a story always rolling around in her head, it should come as no surprise that she finally started putting them on paper. She lives in Texas with her four children, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who sadly was born long after her pen name was created, and will probably need extensive therapy because of it.”
