Sometimes the hardest lesson you have to learn is that you can’t control everything. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and trust that it will all be okay in the end.
Camilla Valentini is a planner. Ever since she could write, she would sit down and compose lists of her daily to do’s, her goals, and her dreams. These lists have taken her through most of her life and served her well. She is living in the city that she loves, has a job that pays the bills or at least most of them, and has the best group of friends a girl can ask for.
However when her life gets turned upside down by a fire in her apartment building, she is left with no place to live, piles of burnt manuscripts, and more importantly only one pair of shoes! As far as she is concerned, things couldn’t get worse. Until she gets fired from her job as a copy editor. Apparently, it was a big mistake to not go on that date with the boss’s son.
Faced with some difficult decisions to make, Cami will have to take a close look at who she is and if she even likes that person. Because when it hits the fan, that is when things really start to get interesting and you can become who you were always meant to be.

Captain's Log :: Review
This book seriously took me through a lot of emotions! I was happy, I was excited, I was worried and cocnerned, I felt her losses. I felt her downward spiral and her climb back to herself. I just felt it all.
This book was different, but in an amazing way. It focused on Cami and her "plan" and when it all 'hit the fan', she had the most amazing support group in the history of support groups. Her friends were always right there with her.
And then things went wonky in her love life, which she wasn't expecting. I don't think anyone saw that coming, to be honest. I really loved how his instinct was to protect her and keep her away from the media of his life.
I did end up REALLY liking this story, but I didn't really get involved with it until halfway through. I almost stopped reading it. I struggled with getting past the slow start. The prologue was definitely interesting, but when chapter one started, I felt like something was lacking. I did stick with it, though, because I kept seeing hints of potential for me to really enjoy it. It was in the hindsight that all the emotions hit me. When I sat down to think about what I'd just read, it just slapped me in the face. The fear. The anxiety of life. Those light-bulb moments of brilliancy that help lead you on the right path. That is what I loved the MOST about this book.
I'm going to give this one a solid FOUR STARS. I really enjoyed Cami's journey and how she learned to grow and overcome so much.
