Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words "wrong number" in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend's heart, but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.
Brian Savage is living a life he's quickly come to hate-until Sydney's wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . .
Captain's Log:
I loved Syd and Brian's tale of overcoming some serious issues and falling in love with your soulmate. Their growth on their own and with each other was absolutely romantic.
I hated what Syd was going through when the book started. No one wants that, ever. It's hard and difficult to process. I am so glad she had an excellent friend she could rely on. That friend also led her, in a round about way, to Brian. Dialing a wrong number has never felt so right.
I loved what they shared with each other and how they got to know each other before taking it to the next level. Their relationship did seem to progress quickly, but it made sense because it was *them*.
I knew that Brian's situation would come back to bite him. The way it happened made my heart break for him. For her. For them. It was absolutely gut wrenching and completely avoidable. If only he didn't want to protect her so much!
My ONLY issue with this book is Brian's complete and total aversion to the use of pronouns. I almost stopped reading this book because of it. Every time he spoke, I got all twitchy eyed. EXCEPT for the exposition in his head. That all made sense. In his head, he made complete sentences and thoughts. When he spoke he sounded uneducated and quite frankly dumb.
However, I'm glad I stuck it out. This book was so great. I loved the story and the character's journey of not only finding out who they were but finding each other in this mad, mad world.
